Add Chad, Andy and Dennijo Sitze, three brothers who have been singing and playing music together since they were tykes, sprinkle a dash of blues and a pinch of southern rock, mix it all up and you have the hot country music trio, Flat River Band. A recently released self-titled debut CD features their own unique blend of rockin’ country songs and soulful ballads. What really sets the trio’s music apart from many “cookie-cutter” bands is the fact that all three brothers share lead vocals, often switching back and forth on the same song. This novel approach adds depth to songs such as the rollicking tribute to a car, “64 Chevy II”, the catchy party song, “Waitin’ For The Weekend” and the haunting “Roswell” and “Deep Muddy River”. One of the CD’s strongest cuts, “Money” is a catchy tune tailor-made for radio and featuring some great mandolin playing by Dennijo. “Lonely” and “Time Fly’s By” are lovely ballads that round out the CD and really showcase each brother’s unique yet complementary vocals. Expect to be hearing more from Flat River Band. Their debut CD is well worth adding to any music fan’s collection.
